Sage is an intelligent learning companion designed to support newly hired child welfare specialists throughout their training journey. This web-based application provides on-demand guidance, interactive practice scenarios, and progress tracking—creating a personalized learning experience that extends beyond traditional classroom training. Sage empowers new professionals to build confidence, reinforce critical concepts, and practice challenging situations in a safe, supportive environment.

The Development Process – The development of Sage showcases the strategic integration of AI tools in instructional design and application development:

1. Collaboration with Claude AI – I worked extensively with Claude AI to conceptualize the application’s features, design the user experience, and develop the conversational framework that powers Sage’s ability to provide relevant, empathetic responses to child welfare trainees.

2. Development with Claude Code – Using Claude Code, I translated the vision into functional code, building the application’s architecture, implementing the chat interface, creating the roleplay scenarios, and developing the analytics dashboard. Claude Code’s agentic coding capabilities accelerated the development process while maintaining code quality.

3. Deployment with Replit – I deployed Sage using Replit’s platform, ensuring the application is accessible, scalable, and easy to maintain. Replit’s infrastructure allows for seamless updates and provides a reliable environment for continuous learning support.
