A Day in the Life of a Child Welfare Worker

Tools: Claude AI, Synthesia
This training video was designed to give aspiring professionals a glimpse into the real, day-to-day moments of professionals in the field – allowing them to connect emotionally with the work before stepping into the role themselves. The goal was to create content that goes beyond theoretical knowledge, helping learners understand the human side of the child welfare work and the profound impact these professionals have on vulnerable children and families.
To develop the script, I collaborated with Claude AI through an iterative prompting process, refining the narrative based on feedback to ensure it accurately captured the challenges and meaningful impact of this critical role. Once the script was finalized, I brought the content to life using Synthesia’s AI-powered platform, creating a polished video with synthetic avatars that delivers professional training content efficiently and cost-effectively. This project demonstrates my ability to leverage AI tools strategically in the instructional design process while maintaining focus on learning outcomes and learner engagement.

Getting Back on Track

Tools: Claude AI, Vyond
This training video gives professionals a realistic look at a moment every team eventually faces: a missed deadline, rising tension, and a colleague who is quietly overwhelmed. The goal was to go beyond theory and show what skilled facilitation looks like in practice. A team lead guides the group from blame toward understanding, makes sure every voice is heard, and turns the problem into a shared plan for supporting a struggling teammate.
To develop the script, I worked with Claude AI through an iterative prompting process. I refined the dialogue across six characters until each conversation step modeled specific facilitation skills: open questions, asking permission before inviting feedback, and reframing the problem as a team responsibility. Once the script was final, I created the video in Vyond. Animated characters and settings replaced actors, crews, and locations, which kept production fast and cost-effective and lets me update the content in minutes instead of reshooting it.
This clip shows the opening of a longer training scenario and ends at a decision point, where learners consider what the facilitator should focus on next. The project’s main goal was cost-effective production: instead of hiring actors, booking a location, and spending days filming and editing, I built the entire scenario in Vyond. Animation made realistic workplace video possible on a small budget, and any line of dialogue can be revised in minutes
